CHIVAS SOUR

Sour

Light, smooth and refreshing, the Whisky Sour is a classic for a reason. The exact Whisky Sour ingredients list may have evolved over time since, adding egg white to the mix for a distinctly creamy texture, but the core flavours and refreshing taste remain the same winning combination. This whisky cocktail is a great whisky beginner’s drink too, as the sharp lemon notes round off the full-bodied flavour of whisky.

PRO TIP

Egg white is used in cocktails as it adds a silky texture and a crisp foam top without being too heavy. Always shake cocktails with egg white in twice so that the egg fully emulsifies for a smooth drink

WHAT’S  THE STORY?

When delving into the Whisky Sour history, many historians believe that sailors should be credited for creating the original Whisky Sour recipe, as they married together the lemons on board with long-lasting liquor.
