Short & Strong

Far from being thick and heavy like many chocolate cocktails, this whisky cocktail is light, as the chocolate-washing process strains out the whisky to leave the set chocolate behind. Paired simply with sweet vermouth, this is a dessert cocktail that you’ll want again and again.

Sweet Vermouth

CHOCOLATE WHISKY

To make chocolate-washed whisky, stir whisky together with melted chocolate

CHILL

Place mixture in the fridge overnight. By the morning, the chocolate will float to the top and set

POUR

Make a hole in the set chocolate and pour through a filter or cheesecloth to remove any smaller particles

Stir ingredients together with ice

Strain into chilled glass and serve

HOW DOES IT PACK SUCH A PUNCH?

While there may only be a couple of ingredients in this Manhattan-style drink, it packs plenty of flavour. By washing the whisky with chocolate, the chocolate notes present within Chivas 18 are enhanced, creating a deeper flavour and creamier mouthfeel.
